Solis S6-GC-30K-LV-US: High-Leg Delta Connection Guide

This document outlines the procedure for connecting the Solis S6-GC-30K-LV-US inverter to a 240V High-Leg Delta power system. Please follow these steps carefully to ensure proper and safe operation.

1. Software Update:

Ensure your inverter is running the latest software version. This is crucial for compatibility with High-Leg Delta systems.

  • HMI software: C701
  • DSP software: 5906

Updating Software:

  • Preferred Method: Connect the inverter to Solis Cloud for automatic updates.
  • Alternative Method (only for areas with limited internet connectivity): Contact Solis Technical Support to obtain an update stick and instructions for manual updating.

2. Grid Standard Selection:

After updating the software, select the 240V (UL-240L) grid standard in the inverter settings. The inverter will automatically adjust voltages for the High-Leg Delta configuration.

3. High Side Connection:

Identify the L2 or B phase on the AC input side of the inverter. This phase will have a larger conductor. Connect the high side of your delta power system to this phase.

4. Neutral Wire:

Important: For proper 240V High-Leg Delta operation, the neutral wire must not be connected to the inverter.

  • If the neutral wire is already in the inverter's wire box: Disconnect and remove it.
  • If the neutral wire cannot be removed: Carefully insulate it with electrical tape and secure it to prevent accidental contact.

Key Notes:

  • The latest software is compatible with both high-side and non-high-side inverters. The inverter will automatically adjust voltages based on the selected grid code (208V for non-high-side, 240V for high-side).
  • Connecting the neutral wire in a High-Leg Delta configuration will lead to measurement errors and potential operational issues.
